The Corner Room with a Round Heart

The Turaco Deluxe Room sits at the corner of the main lodge, where the walls curve into a round, hut-shaped alcove beneath a raised grass roof. Slightly larger and more generously furnished than our double rooms, it is the most distinctive room in the lodge.

The room
A double bed and a single bed make it ideal for a couple with a child or three friends travelling together. Locally crafted furniture from native wood and a tea kettle are provided, and the ensuite bathroom has a shower and toilet. TV and Wi-Fi are coming before opening. Connecting doors to the neighbouring rooms make it the heart of our Turaco Family and Grand Suites.

Around you
The room looks over the garden courtyard of the main lodge, which sits on a gentle hillside in a valley ringed by hills, with the coffee farm all around. A swimming pool is planned alongside the lodge.

Meet the Turaco
The great blue turaco is one of the most spectacular birds of Uganda’s forests: the largest of all turacos at around 75 cm, turquoise-blue with a tall black crest and a bright yellow, red-tipped bill. Its loud, bubbling call carries far through the trees, often long before the bird itself is seen.
