Our Family Home, Yours for a Few Days

The Crested Crane Farmhouse is the family home at the heart of Birds & Butterflies: a two-storey house on a large, private compound full of plants and flowers. On selected dates we open it exclusively to one party, for family weekends, private gatherings or film and photo shoots.

The house
Three bedrooms sleep five: a main bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with a bunk bed and a small single room. A spacious living room and kitchen open onto a 10–15-metre upper terrace, the place to spend the evenings overlooking the gardens and the farm.

Around you
The house stands in its own fenced compound surrounded by gardens, with the coffee farm and the surrounding hills beyond. The main lodge is a short walk away.

Meet the Crested Crane
The grey crowned crane is Uganda’s national bird, pictured on both the national flag and the coat of arms. Tall and elegant, with a golden crown of feathers, it is famous for its dancing displays of bowing, leaping and wing-spreading.
